Overcame multiple critical technological challenges, successfully breaking foreign technology blockades, and established independent capabilities for specialized production equipment for precision forging of aerospace aluminum alloys.
In February, the complete engineering preparation technology for precision forged parts of Southwest Aluminum, as a typical representative of advanced high-performance aluminum alloy material preparation technology, was selected in the list of 16 key products and processes for "one-stop" application demonstration directions and promotion agencies released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission in 2022. This technology was developed over three years, achieving multiple domestic first breakthroughs, forming a batch of core technologies with independent intellectual property rights, overcoming several "bottleneck" technical challenges, successfully breaking foreign technology blockades, and establishing independent guarantee capabilities for specialized production equipment of aerospace aluminum alloy precision forgings.
In November, Researcher Li Dianzhong from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences! Li Dianzhong has long been engaged in research on metal structural materials and processing technology for high-end equipment. He established a visualized casting and forging method, developed fundamental theories for the purification, homogenization, and shape control of large special steel components, invented original key technologies such as low-oxygen segregation suppression and metal construction forming, and successfully applied them to the processing and manufacturing of core components of national heavy equipment, including an 8-meter diameter main bearing for shield machines, a 15.6-meter diameter stainless steel support ring for nuclear power units, a 10-meter diameter runner for the Three Gorges hydroturbine, a 20-meter long crankshaft for large marine diesel engines, and special wide thick plates for ships. These achievements meet the major demands of various high-end equipment, with significant economic and social benefits.
In December, China First Heavy Industries' "Transformative Innovation Research Team for Manufacturing Heavy High-end Complex Forgings" won the "National Outstanding Engineer Team Award."
In December, China First Heavy Industries' project "Industrialization of Ultra-high Strength Steel Extra-large Energy Storage Flywheel Forgings for Power Plants and Grid Auxiliary Frequency Regulation" was successfully selected as a major scientific and technological achievement transformation project in Heilongjiang Province for 2023.
